- Chinatown
- Bangkok's huge Chinatown district is home to many temples and other significant historical buildings.
- Golden Mount
- It started out as a huge chedi during the reign of Rama III, but unstable earth made it collapse before it was even completed. Later monarchs capped the pile of rubble with concrete and created the Golden Mountain.
- Ko Kred
- See a bit of village life on this island in the Chaophraya River just a few miles north of downtown Bangkok.
- Loha Prasat
- This unusual structure located in Wat Ratchanadda on the edge of the old Royal City was begun more than 150 years ago, but only recently completed.
- Suan Pakkad Palace
- This residence consists of a collection of traditional Thai style houses bought together and turned into a museum by some minor royals.
- Wat Arun
- The "Temple of Dawn" is practically a symbol of Bangkok and Thailand. It features frequently on travel posters and post cards.
- Wat Chakrawat
- This large monastery, one of the three biggest in Bangkok, houses some very unusual buildings as well as a few crocodiles!
- Wat Chana Songkram
- Tucked away in the center of the backpacker are of Banglampu is the temple of Wat Chana Songkram. People often use the temple as a shortcut between Khao San Road and the river without ever stopping to take a closer look. Big mistake.
- Wat Mahathat
- As the center of the Mahanikai school of Buddhism, this busy temple near the Grand Palace is an interesting and quiet place to get away from the crowds around the Grand Palace.
- Wat Po
- Its one of the "must see" sights of bangkok. Often referred to as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
- Wat Prayoon
- A strange temple on the Thonburi side of the river. Home to a large turtle pond.
- Wat Suan Plu
- This temple in Bangkok near the Chao Phraya river is somewhat unique temple with most of the buildings made out of wood.
- Wat Suthat
- Home of the Giant Swing, Wat Suthat is one of Bangkok's more important temple.
