Don Muang Airport

The 90-year old Don Muang Airport was supposed to be retired in October of 2006 when the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport was opened to replace it. However, over-crowding and technical problems forced the Airport Authority to re-open Don Muang for domestic traffic in March of 2007. Only Thai Airways and a couple of low cost carriers made the move back to the old airport, which remains open to this day. The IATA code for Don Muang is DMK.

Airlines Serving Don Muang

Only Nok Air and One-Two-Go fly all of their flights out of Don Muang. Some Thai Airways flights are out of Don Muang, while others are flown from Suvarnabhumi.

Thai Airways
The national flag carrier moved some of its domestic flights back to Don Muang. The airline serves only those destinations that most tourists don't visit from the old airport. The major destinations such as Chiang Mai and Phuket are still served from the new airport.
One-Two-Go
The budget arm of charter carrier Orient Thai, One-Two-Go distinguishes itself by using larger planes than other low cost lines. All of 1-2-Go's domestic flights are out of Don Muang.
Nok Air
Budget carrier with Thai Airways as one of its major investors. All of Nok's domestic flights are based at Don Muang.
