The grand atrium Terminal 21 shopping mall
Terminal 21 opened in October of 2011 at the very busy Asoke intersection. Asoke Road is also technically known as Sukhumvit 21, hence the "21" in the name. The "Terminal" part alludes to the design theme of the mall, which sports an airport motif. The signs suggest the escalators are like planes, which whisk you to different parts of the world. Each floor of the mall sports a different world theme. The upper food floors suggest San Francisco. Another floor tries to look like a mid-Eastern bazaar.
The retail shops at Terminal 21 are pretty much the usual suspects you'll find at most high end malls around Bangkok. The food options, which are plentiful, tend towards the Japanese, but there are a number of other options, including Mexican, Mediterranean and American. There's a branch of SF Cinema showing the latest movies as well as a branch of Fitness First gyms. Atop the massive complex is the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 serviced apartments.
Getting there: Terminal 21 is right at the Asoke BTS station, with direct access bridges from the station to the mall. It's also just a few steps from the Sukhumvit subway station.
