Sriracha Tiger Zoo

The Sriracha Tiger Zoo is an old private attraction on the highway from Bangkok, about 30 minutes outside of Pattaya. This is a real pile-them-in, put-on-a-show, pack-them-out kind of place. Aside from locals, almost all visitors arrive in large tour buses. There's a circus-like tiger show, of course, as well as a crocodile show and elephant rides. The zoo does in fact have a sizeable crocodile farm on display. The zoo uses pigs to feed and raise the tigers in order to make them more docile, and the pigs themselves put on quite a show. I found myself wondering during the show what else they do to the tigers to make them safe to be around.

The tiger zoo will definitely not appeal to everyone, and may even offend some. Kids will most likely enjoy it. The zoo is open daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Shows run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, but the first tiger show is at 11:00. Adult admission is 800 Baht, children under 1.2 meters are free.
