Buriram City
There's little of interest in Buriram city for the typical traveler. Visitors to the province wanting to see Phnom Rung and the other Khmer sites are better off staying in Nang Rong.
There is an Isan cultural center located in the local university, but at last report it was operating on eratic hours. Like most provincial cities, Buriram hosts annual festivals but they are not as well known or popular as those in nearby provinces, such as Surin's elephant round-up or Ubon's candle festival.

The simplest way to get to Buriram is by bus. Buses leave Bangkok's Mor Chit bus station regularly for the roughly five hour trip. The fare from Bangkok is around 300 Baht (). You can also easily get to Buriram by bus from any of the neighboring provices.
Buriram does have a rather new airport, so it is possible to fly there. However, as of January 2010, low-cost carrier Nok Air was the only airline flying to Buriram, with twice-weekly flights.
There are very few places to stay in Buriram, reflecting its status as a place most international travelers don't visit.
