Opened in February 2006, this small hotel near Chiang Mai's famous night bazaar has quickly gained a following among those who like distinctive places to stay. Comprising just 42 rooms in a low-rise complex, the hotel is just about five minutes walk from the night bazaar area. The hotel was built around a few giant old banyan trees, which gives the new hotel the feeling of a long-established village.
The architecture of the buildings is inspired by the Tai Lue style of northern Thailand. The small buildings housing the guest rooms are clustered around the good sized pool and jacuzzi. The small restaurant also faces the pool.
Hotel facilities include a restaurant, a swimming pool with jacuzzi, library and one small meeting room.
Rooms feature air conditioning, mini-bar, DVD player and high speed internet access.
Pluses: Distinctive design, excellent location, small hotel and good sized rooms.
Minuses: Some guests have reported mosquito problems. This should not be a big issue if you keep doors and windows closed.
Rooms at the Yaang Come Village Hotel may be booked through Agoda or you can compare rates from several sites using Hotels Combined
