Old City Hotels

There seems to be well over 100 hotels in Chiang Mai's old city, or just across the moat from it. Most of these are small hotels and guest-houses, ranging from cheap to expensive. I've selected a few places for you to consider, listed below, based on past experience and recommendations from trusted travelers. You can search click through the scrolling ad on this page to search for more hotel options.

Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai Hotel
Just inside the Southern gate of the old city, the Bodhi Serene is a little away from the main tourist areas, but within easy walking distance of many sights, such as the Silver Village and Cultural Center.
Buri Gallery House Hotel
Large rambling guest house just steps from several of the old major temples of the city.
De Naga Hotel Chiang Mai
Located just inside the Tapae Gate, this small hotel is handy to the sights of the old city as well as the night bazaar area.
Rachamankha a Member of Secret Retreats Hotel
With its location near the western wall of the old city, this posh hotel resembles a temple more than a hotel, and is a little out of the way. But since it's still inside the old city walls, you can still reach most of the sights on foot easily.
Tamarind Village Hotel
Tamarind is the slightly less posh cousin of the Rachamankha, and located almost in the exact center of the old city.
