King Mengrai Statue
About a block east of the Hill Tribe museum is the city's main monument to its founder, King Mengrai. It's mostly of interest to see how many people come to pay homage and make offerings.

The statue makes a grand entrance to the city, which you may pass on your way into town from the airport. In a long low building behind the statue are some shops selling local handicrafts.
