Suan Sri Rue Du Residential Hall
This gingerbread confection was originally a residence of Queen Saovabha and Princess Valaya Alongkorn, the present king's aunt. The much-beloved Princess Mother also lived here when she was a young girl.
The building now displays gifts and art objects presented to His Majesty King Bhumibol on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne in 1996. These include gifts from the Thai people as well as from foreign heads of state. President Clinton sent a large book of photographs of jazz greats, many of whom were also friends of the king.
The building also houses a small black and silver alter dedicated to the late Princess Mother.
In th gardens of Suan Sri Rue Du residential hall is a small Chinese style pagoda.
