JEATH Museum Building
The JEATH War Museum is one of two competing "JEATH" museums in Kanchanaburi town. JEATH stands for the main countries involved in the construction of the death railway: Japan, England, Australia, Thailand and Holland. The main building of this museum attempts to recreate a typical barracks building of the prisoner of war (POW) camps used during the construction of the railway. Inside are photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings and other mementos from the war.
Another building of the museum displays belongings and other memorabilia from the Japanese guards who worked at the camps.
The JEATH War Museum is located in Wat Chai Chumpol, on the river at the far eastern end of town. Admission is 30 Baht (0.78 USD).
