Krabi's relatively new airport is a small modern structure. The main terminal structure is on three levels. The lowest floor is the arrivals hall, and the second is check-in and departures. The third level houses offices and a restaurant.
Krabi Airport Arrivals
There is only one sky-bridge at Krabi Airport, so you may find yourself walking from your plane into the terminal. If that is the case, you will find yourself directed first up an escalator, then back down to the arrivals hall. The baggage carousels are located behind the escalator. I've seen many passengers blithely walk out of the arrivals area without their bags.
Once you get your bags, you can exit the arrivals hall. Outside baggage claim, you'll find car rental counters for Budget, Avis and National; some souvenir shops; snack stalls; and shuttle counter.
Airport Transfers
There are no licensed taxis in Krabi. However, there are several shuttle services available from counters in the arrivals hall. If you're staying at one of the major beach areas, you can easily get a shared van for around 150 Baht (3.90 USD).
Krabi Airport Departures
- ALL your bags must be scanned to enter the terminal building.
- After checking in and getting your boarding pass, there is an ID check before going through security. You'll need to present your passport and boarding pass.
- The security scan is not too strict. No need to remove your belt or shoes.
- Passport control for international passengers is immediately after the security scan.
